Hot Beauty Keyword – PDRN

As popular as ‘SHOT’, this new beauty keyword ‘PDRN’ is expeditiously rising as an anti-aging agent for the skin in Korea. This ingredient in skincare – I’m not talking about injectable treatment here 😋 – helps to promote skin regeneration, collagen synthesis and revitalization and can be used to treat hyperpigmentation.

⏳PDRN & Its Skin Benefits

Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) is a DNA-based compound obtained from the sperm cells of salmon trout or chum salmon, and the chemical structure is similar to human DNA, being able to promote skin regeneration, collagen production and reduce skin inflammation.

⏳Who is PDRN for?

PDRN in skincare is especially beneficial for those experiencing the signs of aging such as uneven skin tone and texture, loss of elasticity, and fine lines. Additionally, its effectiveness of anti-inflammatory can extend to individuals with acne blemish. It isn’t meant to treat active acne, but rather dehydrated or wounded skin.

These below products I have tried so far, and summarized details and my thoughts – hope you find the best solution for your skin.

      (It smells like medicine or pet food – sorry about this comparison but if you’re sensitive about smell you may describe it the same >.<)

2. INNISFREE Retinol Green Tea PDRN Skin Booster Ampoule

• Green Tea PDRN™ & The 3-layer Retinol Complex™
• Contains pure retinol (1,000IU/g) which is equal to 0.025% retinol + retinoid complex (1,150ppm) so total 1% of retinol complex

⏳Conclusion

Above products all have clinically proven skin improvement results – eg. IOPE PDRN Serum shows a visible lifting effect for the skin around the cheeks, jawline and mouth area in about 2 weeks and medicube PDRN Serum reduced pigmentation in 2 weeks etc,.,

They are all also completed skin-irritation tests. I cannot say which serum is the best for specific skin concerns, however I can advise that:

• medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum
  – When applied, feels like coated skin surface, making my skin glowing (enhancing radiance) and no side effect for me even double layered with Innisfree Retinol Green Tea PDRN serum. It’s gentle enough however sometimes disturbs my makeup application – it may be from my other moisturizer or primer but it happens
  


• Centellian 24 PDRN Firming Boosting Ampoule
  – Slowest absorbing compared to others which means is ideal for using Centellian24 Madeca Prime Beauty Device together. It’s more hydrating and nourishing and doesn’t irritate my skin

• INNISFREE Retinol Green Tea PDRN Skin Booster Ampoule
  – high content of retinol yet non-irritating my skin: I have a reaction with high potency of retinol used previously. It smooths my skin surface and makes my skin healthier-looking next morning. Recommended for use at night personally

• IOPE PDRN Caffeine Shot
  – Fast-absorbing and no issue with combining with other serum(s), and doesn’t disturb my makeup application. It comforts and smooths my skin and gentle enough, the best choice so far

👉 PDRN serum is good for treating early signs of ageing and even hyperpigmentation, also hydrating benefits with supporting skin barrier function.
The combination of other actives such as Niacinamide, Adenosine and Retinol in a bottle can achieve maximum results for your skin. It also has boosting effect for following skincare product absorption, and for me it visibly improved my appearance so I definately recommend to add/replace in your skincare routine. It reminds me that if you have more than one IOPE serum, follow this order:
IOPE Bio Conditioning Essence (first step) or Skin toner – PDRN – Stem III – Gluta vitamin Toning – Bounce serum in order.
